The Data Services team at QBE oversees the design and migration of data products onto the AUSPAC division’s Qsight platform. This platform, originally built on SQL server, is now transitioning to cloud on Azure Databricks. As part of this transformation, a Data Foundation Chapter has been established to focus on end-to-end data solutions and a Common Data Model for all Qsight products. This role will sit in this chapter reporting to Data Foundation Chapter lead. In this role, you will provide data design thought leadership for end-to-end Data Products and to squads of data engineers to deliver high quality data products on QSIGHT.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide inputs into Strategy and Planning for ongoing development of data foundation.
• Responsible for planning any changes to data design frameworks and standards required to deliver quality data services. Also responsible for liaising with division IT architecture, Group data architecture, and data platforms team to plan for any changes to platform and application architecture needed to deliver and meet data services functional and non-functional requirements.
• Leading design of data assets for QSIGHT data foundation primarily on the Common Data Model and solution design (ETL/ELT frameworks, CI/CD, Realtime Integration etc) for specific projects across assigned value stream.
• Maintain and enrich data design standards and methodology, to meet ongoing data service requirements.
• Provide oversight on data design across all value stream chapters (e.g. Claims, Underwriting etc.)
• Provide inputs to principal technologist in data platforms team for any platform/application uplifts required to meet data service’s needs.
