Description:

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
    AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
    You will be responsible for creating and executing the technical strategy alongside sales and business development as we work to delight our Financial Services customers through a deep relationship with AWS. Partnering with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
    As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS with Financial Services customers. You will also partner with other teams within AWS such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.
    This position includes travel up to 20% within ANZ.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes and recommend best-practice cloud architectures in line with their long-term business needs.
  • Drive technical solutions discussions with your customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical problems and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
  • Scope and own customer engagements, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
  • Work backwards from your customer’s business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology
  • As a trusted technical advisor, use your interpersonal skills to influence a variety of stakeholders from technical teams to executives, and help ensure their short-term technology decisions are aligned with their long-term goals.
  • Define and execute on the strategy by engaging highly technical teams (Solutions Architects, Technical Account Managers, AWS professional services consultants and consulting/managed services partners).

As a Solution Architect, you will go beyond the technical solution architecture and work with the account teams, specialists and partners to deliver a practical solution that will accelerate the customers business outcome. You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offer.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Melbourne, VIC, AUS

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
  • Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
