• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Knowledge and experience in the Telecommunications sector.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Senior Solution Architect to work with our Media customers and other AWS teams to craft cloud-based solutions, primarily in Sydney.

We are trusted advisors to our customers and partners and work with AWS sales, business development, solutions architecture and product teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
AWS Solution Architects possess customer facing skills that allow us to represent Amazon well within a customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel within the company, as well as a technical background that enables us to easily interact and give guidance to software developers and architects.

As a trusted customer advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build focus and broad use of AWS. Your ability to understand the Media industry and the specifics of streaming and broadcast technologies will allow you to connect technology with measurable business value. As you’ll be asked to drive our customers’ AWS technology roadmap, you should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and long term about business, products, and technical challenges.

The successful candidate has demonstrated working experience in the Media industry and has deep expertise around live broadcast, video streaming (live/vod), content production/lifecycle workflows and the associated vendors ecosystem.

Key job responsibilities

• You will be responsible for creating and executing the technical strategy alongside sales and business development as we work to delight our Media Services customers through a deep relationship with AWS.
• As a key member of the Solution Architecture team, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
• Partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community including authoring AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, blogs as well as public speaking at AWS customer events.

A day in the life
As a Solution Architect, you will work with the account teams, specialists and partners to proactively identify opportunities to innovate on behalf of you customers to drive business outcomes while optimizing their current investments on AWS as per our well architect best practices.
You will also contribute to uplifting your knowledge through the broad catalogue of accreditation and education opportunities that AWS offer.
