Connected Vehicle technology is a key enabler to a customer’s current and future vehicle and brand experience. The platform is a key element to implement new safety, convenience and mobility features for existing and upcoming features. This technology in-turn has become a key to improve future service retention, repurchase loyalty and overall brand ownership experience. The Senior Specialist, Connected Vehicle will play a key role in the coordination and management of Mazda’s Connected Services strategy (Design, Define, Implement, Improve).
The incumbent will communicate with Mazda Canada’s (MCI) internal departments, Mazda Motor Corporation (MC), our parent company headquartered in Hiroshima, Japan, and Mazda of North America (MNAO) located in Irvine, California.

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required):

  • Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in related field.
  • 3-5 years related work experience in the auto industry.
  • Ability to interpret and create detailed analysis, strategic forward planning, and communicate sound conclusions/recommendations.
  • Understanding of databases and how they interconnect.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and written (will communicate frequently with Senior Management, retailer partners and vendors).
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Office competence.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to work autonomously while being able to prioritize and manage timelines

Responsibilities:

Business and Projects

  • Lead long-term projects through various milestones/phases to full delivery.
  • Design and implement ‘Customer first’ strategies using connected vehicle technology that help elevate the vehicle ownership experience throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
  • Find efficiencies in other vertical markets by leveraging connected vehicle technology.
  • Support MC with introduction of new app and vehicle features that use connected vehicle.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Management of connected vehicle & MyMazda App enrolment and engagement reporting.
  • Analyze MyMazda App usage metrics to understand customer behaviours.
  • Provide in depth analysis of the market with respect to app usage, subscription models, pricing, and renewal programs.
  • Regular meetings with MC and MNAO considering all time zones (may be outside of usual work hours).

Communications

  • Craft and publish communications and material related to connected vehicle and affiliated processes and products for various departments at Mazda Canada and retailer.
  • Craft and develop material for our retailers related to connected vehicle and the MyMazda App.
  • Be the lead between Mazda Canada and Mazda Motor Corp for connected services, app updates, new features, subscription strategies, etc.
