POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Specialist, Custody Services, will provide day to day support to Custody Services in Toronto and Pune India in the form of professional client service, account oversight and risk management to an assigned group of larger more complex client and/or investment managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University, Community College degree or equivalent training with a concentration in business, finance or accounting
  • 3 years progressive experience
  • Canadian Securities Course
  • Thorough knowledge of securities/investment industry
  • Organized, detail oriented, analytical, ability to meet deadlines
  • A customer service focus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the team in Toronto and Pune with the servicing of their accounts and the research and resolution of sensitive or complex client issues to ensure professional service is delivered and improve service standards.
  • Perform daily critical control functions by validating client and investment manager authorized signatures, verify security transactions, authorize cash transactions, research all overdrafts or idle balances daily to ensure validity and take appropriate action to ensure timely market settlement of all transactions to reduce market exposure.
  • Maintain special instructions, other critical documents and CDI database to ensure compliance and that policies and procedures are being adhered to.
  • Provide direction, technical advice and support to staff in Toronto and Pune, provide training to Specialists, serve as an assistant to the Team Leader/Supervisor in coordinating and monitoring the activities of the team both onshore and offshore.
  • Identify opportunities for improved processing, cost reduction, revenue generation, STP rates, NI-24101 trade match rates, fax clients and support & provide feedback with project testing.
