Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree on International Trade, Global Tax, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- At least 5 years of experience in an import/ export role with knowledge of trade compliance processes and the interplay with global supply chain.
- Knowledge or experience of at least one of the following regulatory environments: Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Health Care, Fast Moving Consumer Goods regulations and standards.
- International trade business acumen including tariff classifications, customs valuation, license management, preferential origin determination, free trade agreements background.
- Attention to detail, good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English
Preferred Experience and Skills
- Experience in ERP trade data maintenance (HS Classifications), Sanctioned Party List Screening and import/export compliance program management.
- Additional European language skills are considered a plus
Responsibilities:
- Own policies, standards and global import/export processes while work towards continuous improvements and driving best practices.
- Provide strategic and tactical stewardship for global trade compliance systems and processes to assigned markets, partners, and stakeholder groups.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of world class import/ export practices for translation to business optimization and efficiency opportunities.
- Be the champion for import / export activities globally through improved trade cycles and compliance process effectiveness.
- Drive to 100% compliance with laws and regulations for import / export under a LEAN mindset.
- Work closely with regional experts across Technology, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Transportation to develop a global sustainable compliance process.
