We are seeking an appropriately experienced Senior Specialist – Linux Systems for this full-time, fixed term position (ending 30 June 2026) to contribute to the delivery of key cyber projects. This position is based at Blackburn North, while it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at our office hybrid/WFH options are available.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Senior Program Manager Cyber Security, this position provides expert advice and project support for the cyber security program relating to remediation of vulnerabilities, upgrades and migrations of critical IT systems running on Red Hat, Oracle Linux and other Linux platforms. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Support AV cyber security program, associated projects, cloud program and BAU activities aligned to AV’s Strategic Plan, consistent with AV’s Improvement, Project, and Change Framework/s
- Working closely with AV’s Security and Cloud Infrastructure Architects, support design, security enhancements and migration of Linux systems and services
- Provide technical input and advice to improve security, reliability and performance of systems to ensure systems and services remain secure and aligned to relevant security controls
- Prepare briefs and proposals for AV’s Linux technology solutions and associated activities which clearly convey strategies and plans and how to continuously improve the AV environment
- Work collaboratively, provide technical leadership on Linux services and lead consultation for effective stakeholder engagement at all levels
