Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Good understanding of business specific organisations & functions (Quality, Finance, Supplier Relationship Manager, Procurement, EHS, Market Supply Operations & Supply Chain), and capable to interact with decision makers within.
  • Creates and maintains strong working relationships within the BMS organisation and externally with customers, BMS approved Transportation companies, 3PLs & CMOs.
  • Self-driven with a strong customer focus and possess skillset to work on own initiative within a team environment to drive issues to resolution.
  • Working knowledge of ERP, ideally SAP and related Data Analysis Tools to include the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated capability in the use of Six Sigma tools for root cause analysis. Ability to close-out investigations and issues with CMOs, 3PLs and BMS approved Transportation companies.
  • Ability to translate technical issues into business impact and relevant solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise, organize and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of Customs clearance import and export procedures for shipments moving between EU & Non-EU locations.
  • Knowledge of the Classification, Preparation and Transportation of Dangerous Goods to ensure compliance with IATA, ADR & IMDG regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Packaging & Transportation solutions to mitigate against logistics incidents that could jeopardise the integrity of pharmaceutical product.
  • Appreciation of performance metrics and their value in influencing Supply Chain results.
  • Must have knowledge of and model the BMS core behaviours

  • A Qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management would be advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, analytical & presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritise, organise and manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines.
  • Minimum of three years previous experience within a Supply Chain environment, preferably within the Life Sciences sector.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations within the overall business organisation and structure would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

BMS External Manufacturing is looking to recruit a permanent Senior Specialist, Logistics Planning.
Job Function: Responsible for Managing Transportation & External Warehousing on behalf of ExM for EMEA/APAC.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the planning of Transportation Movements with all BMS approved transportation companies and storage facilities, on behalf of ExM from all sites (CMOs, 3PL, DCs, Intercompany etc) for EMEA/APAC.
  • Manages, resolves issues, implements improvements and ultimately fosters relations between 3PL / CMO’s and BMS approved transportation companies.
  • Manages transportation redeployments to markets and returns to manufacturing sites.
  • Accountable for the Investigation, and successful resolution, of all Transportation & Distribution incidents on behalf of ExM in Deviation Management System.
  • Owns the LIR system on behalf of ExM Supply Chain as subject matter expert (SME), and is the key point of contact for the LIR global team.
  • Attends Quarterly Business Reviews, as required, with BMS approved Transportation Companies & 3PL to drive Performance, Mitigate Risks and ensure alignment with ExM goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for transportation decision making on behalf of ExM in the EMEA/APAC region during any period of absence of the Logistics Team Lead.
  • Demonstrates that Logistics are managed in the most efficient and cost effective manner by utilising OPEX tools to drive Continuous Improvement to meet, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Responsible for reviewing, analysing and authorising all ExM Freight spend.

Designee Responsibilities: Senior Logistics Planners are designee for each other during periods of absence. Also responsible for operational aspects of Logistics Team lead during absence.
