Description:

About the job:
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Specialist Solution Architect to passionately drive the adoption of Red Hat’s Automation technology. In this role, you will be the catalyst creating opportunities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers in our key enterprise accounts, government agencies and service provider partners. You’ll need to possess excellent communication and people skills balanced with technical expertise, passion for open source, and a thorough understanding of business and IT challenges encountered at the enterprise level. Through a series of structured in-person interactions the Specialist Solution Architect will win the trust and confidence of customer engineering, development and operations teams by aligning their requirements and use cases with the functional capabilities of the Ansible Automation Platform. The Specialist Solution Architect will have a thorough working knowledge and hands-on experience with Ansible, as well as familiarity with Chef, Puppet, Salt, and other solutions in the Automation space. The Specialist Solution Architect will have a strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, tools and their practical application within an organization. You’ll be required to clarify customer business and technical challenges, suggesting various solutions paths across multiple technology platforms and proving their feasibility and value to the customer through demonstrations and/or MVP pilots of our offerings. As a Specialist Solution Architect, you will exercise judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate activities, effectively managing your own time. You’ll also bridge the gap between pre- and post-sales implementations of our technology, ensuring successful customer deployments. The Specialist Solution Architect will act as a customer advocate within Red Hat to architect the right solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable manner.
You will learn constantly about new automation technologies and how they can be applied to solve enterprise-scale challenges.

What you will do:

  • Provide architectural and presales technical support to your customers
  • Lead the technical validation process with customers, including presentations and demonstrations of our offerings and solutions, technical deep dive sessions and workshops.
  • Assist your team with responding to RFPs for customer success
  • Delivering successful discovery, analysis and design workshops for small to medium teams of both technical and non-technical backgrounds that shape and influence the customer’s use cases and architecture design decisions.
  • Lead customers through successful pilot and/or proof-of-concept deployments.
  • The design, creation and delivery of content that enables the broader Red Hat presales organization to pitch, present and demonstrate our Ansible Automation Platform solution.
  • Work closely with product business units, product engineering, and sales to ensure a world-class customer experience with Red Hat’s Automation products.
  • Contribute to the development of repeatable methodologies and tools designed to scale Red Hat’s presales capabilities, and promote repeatable customer outcomes.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the Automation community by contributing to white papers, webinars; code contributions to relevant projects; and speaking at industry events and Red Hat conferences.

What you will bring:

  • 6+ years of experience working in the Automation space
  • 5-10 years of experience in a developer, solution architect, enterprise architect, or consulting delivery role, with a focus on Automation
  • A solid foundation of Automation market trends and experience with customers at C-level
  • Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, with demonstrable capability in automating infrastructure, networking (esp. Cisco), and security solutions
  • Experience in architecting and implementing automation solutions such as Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, Terraform, etc.
  • Good knowledge of UNIX or Linux systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Red Hat Satellite, and related technologies
  • Proven record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
  • Ability to orchestrate proofs of concept from initiation to business closure stages
  • Red Hat Certification (Red Hat Certified Engineer, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Managing Automation with Ansible Automation Platform, or Red Hat Certified Architect) is highly desirable
  • Degree in Computing and/or Engineering is desirable
