Job Description
Our Dublin based client is looking for a SQL Server DBA to join their team. This is a daily rate contract role offering excellent daily rates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimise SQL Server databases for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Implement and maintain database security practices, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Perform regular database backups and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor database systems to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and other issues.
  • Develop and implement database maintenance plans, including index tuning, statistics updates, and query optimization.
  • Manage database upgrades, migrations, and patch management processes efficiently.
  • Provide detailed reports on database health, performance metrics, and maintenance activities to stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA
  • Strong expertise in database backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or T-SQL for automation of database tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of hardware, software, and networking as it relates to database management and maintenance.
