On behalf of our client in the Banking Sector, PROCOM is looking for a SQL Database Administrator.

SQL Database Administrator - Job Description

• Proactive Performance and Capacity review
• Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server and Azure
• Perform database backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of DR availability, including knowledge of MS SQL restoration and availability technologies such as Clustering, Replication and especially Always-On
• Accountable for day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all Prod-Non Prod database servers
• SQL code-review for the application teams to enforce SQL coding standards and tune
• Builds and reports on SQL environment performance and availability metrics and takes appropriate actions to implement best practices and optimize performance
• Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects
• Migrate the database from On-Prem to Azure

SQL Database Administrator - Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of SQL experience including T-SQL
• 3+ years of Azure database experience *Azure is priority although willing to consider other cloud experience
• Experience with large database and heavy transactions
• Knowledge of API
• Calm demeanor
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills

SQL Database Administrator - Preferred Skills

• Banking experience is a strong nice to have
• KeyVault experience would an asset
• CDC experience also nice to have
