Tesla, given its high profile in the technology and automotive industries, is uniquely positioned to enable site reliability engineers to have a major impact within our industry, company, and across our customer base. As a member of the Tesla Linux Infrastructure team, you will automate away toil and build tools to manage a large distributed system and to make development seamless. This role presents a prime opportunity to ensure that reliability, maintainability, performance, scalability, and security are at the forefront of our teams’ products.

What You’ll Do

  • Build advanced tooling and user interface for infrastructure automation and administration to manage private cloud across multiple global distributed data centers
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems handling large volumes of data and develop solutions that have a significant impact at scale
  • Be ultimately accountable for the performance, capacity and high availability of the infrastructure
  • Identify sources of manual work related to onboarding new projects from inception to CI/CD pipeline and strive to automate as much as possible.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proficiency in Go, TCP/IP, Networking Programming
  • Experience with web technologies and frameworks (React, Vue)
  • Proficient in building highly scalable architectures
  • Knowledge of Virtualization or Containerization (VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker, LXD/LXC)
  • Understanding of the concepts of Observability and Infrastructure as Code Systems Automation (Ansible/Puppet)
  • Familiarity with distributed and cloud computing
