Description:
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Cardiology) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
About the role
Provide clinical specialist cardiology support to the Cardiology service, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient centered clinical practice.
Work as part of a team of physicians to provide a comprehensive cardiac clinical and teaching service across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. Provide clinical care to patients and clinically manage, on a day-to-day basis, the associated multidisciplinary patient care team to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care. Provide professional leadership within Cardiology as well as Specialist Medical Services and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.
Requirements for the role
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
- Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRACP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and registrable as a Cardiology specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Fellowship training and experience in multi-modality cardiovascular imaging will be an added advantage.
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for the Cardiology service.
Salary information
- Temporary part time (56 hours per fortnight)
- Senior Staff Specialist: Base hourly rate from $120.51 - $127.77 p.h
- Staff Specialist: Base hourly rate from $100.78 - $117.06 p.h
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
