Description:
WHY WORK AT HCRA:
We foster a professional home building industry that Ontarians can trust.
The Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA) is a not-for-profit corporation that is designated by the provincial government of Ontario to administer and enforce the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017 and associated regulations. HCRA holds licensed builders to professional standards, protects the public interest, and enhances consumer confidence in the homebuilding industry in Ontario. In addition, HCRA strives to educate consumers to ensure that they can make informed decisions and understand the benefits of a regulated homebuilding sector. As one of Ontario’s newest regulators, HCRA is dedicated to providing the highest level of service to everyone they serve.
HCRA provides a flexible, hybrid and collaborative work environment, with an array of benefits as well as considerable time off allowances. Additionally, as a mid-sized organization, team members have direct exposure to senior management on a regular basis and they get the opportunity to work on a range of assignments with significant responsibilities. By joining the HCRA, you’ll be a part of the establishment of a growing regulator that is passionate, engaged, forward-thinking and innovative.
WHAT THE POSITION IS:
We are seeking a Senior Stakeholder Relations Specialist to develop and implement comprehensive stakeholder relations strategies that foster positive consumer, industry, and public relations, through consultation with senior management. This role is crucial in developing foundational strategies, priorities, and tactics in alignment with the HCRA’s regulatory mandate under the New Home Construction Licensing Act, 2017.
The successful candidate will lead the development of stakeholder management strategies and approaches through collaboration with senior management and program managers. They will research and develop background information and briefing materials to support stakeholder engagement strategies, plan and implement effective engagement initiatives, and develop tools, templates, and standards for stakeholder relations.
Key responsibilities include crafting compelling content for various communication channels and initiatives, such as online and in-person events, blogs, presentations, e-newsletters, and other e-communications.
They will also support and develop materials for key stakeholder groups – including HCRA’s Consumer and Industry Advisory Councils. Additionally, the Senior Specialist will lead the development of public education and engagement plans, lead media monitoring to advise on emerging issues and opportunities and create tools and standards for stakeholder relations. Staying current with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in stakeholder engagement is essential.
The Senior Specialist will determine appropriate methods for achieving engagement outcomes, facilitate information gathering, and analyze data from engagement events to prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations. Additionally, they will escalate stakeholder concerns internally and assess the effectiveness of engagement consultations, recommending continuous improvements.
