Description:

As the Engineering Stores Continuous Improvement Technician at ESS Ltd., your primary objective is to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives within the Engineering department’s stores management. You play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness by implementing innovative strategies, particularly focusing on obsolescence program management, rationalisation of stock items, and identification and categorization of non-stock items.

Responsibilities:

  1. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage obsolescence effectively, minimising the impact on inventory and operations.
  • Lead efforts to rationalise stock items by identifying redundant or obsolete inventory, optimizing stock levels, and reducing carrying costs.
  • Implement robust processes for the identification, categorisation, and management of non-stock items, ensuring they are readily accessible when needed.
  • Implement a comprehensive storage strategy to ensure one location per part and all parts stored appropriately.
  1. Operations Optimisation:
  • Maintain an accurate inventory database, regularly auditing and updating records to reflect changes in stock levels and item statuses.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Technicians and other stakeholders to ensure efficient issuance of spare parts and materials.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders for the engineering stores.
  • Utilise PEMAC system as the repository to streamline inventory management processes, improving accuracy and efficiency.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment within the stores.
  • Implement measures to ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations regarding inventory management.
  1. Training and Communication:
  • Provide training and support to stores personnel on continuous improvement methodologies and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, sharing insights and progress on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Engineering department, encouraging feedback and participation from team members.
  • Regular update on defined KPI’s

By focusing on obsolescence program management, correct storing methods identification of vendor managed inventory opportunities, rationalisation of stock items, and effective management of non-stock items, you contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Engineering department’s operations.
