YOUR PROFILE:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Actuarial qualification: Fellowship of a recognized Actuarial Society.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of experience in an insurance, reinsurance, actuarial consulting or corporate actuarial role. Experience in capital management or investment market analysis will be beneficial.
• Strong familiarity with accounting, finance, and actuarial concepts.

JOB-SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Sound understanding of life and health insurance and reinsurance in South Africa and other Sub-Saharan markets.
• Strong knowledge in insurance and financial regulatory requirements and accounting standards.
• Experience in client management and business development.
• Distinct problem solving skills, creativity, critical thinking and focus on achieving business results.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent technical actuarial skills.
• Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
• A team player with a “can-do” attitude.
• Good command of actuarial modelling packages and MS Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
