Senior Supervisor - Water Reclamation Maintenance

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direction performs work of considerable difficulty in planning, scheduling, and coordinating the mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation repairs of the Water Reclamation plant and related areas; performs related work as required.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Tools used in mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work.
• Occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions.
• Wastewater collection systems.
• Divisional work rules and employee bargaining unit agreements.
• Effective supervisory techniques.
• Record keeping procedures.

SKILL IN:

• Planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of subordinate personnel.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Evaluating situations and in making appropriate decisions.
• Reading technical drawings.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from high school or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) Tests equivalency and four (4) years of experience in the maintenance of a large wastewater treatment plant or other closely related industry utilizing similar equipment and two (2) years of general supervisory experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

In this position, the employee will occasionally stand, sit, climb, push, pull, drag and/or carry up to 80 pounds. The employee will frequently walk-in all-weather conditions. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling and crouching may occur with this position. Speaking and listening are constant essential functions of this position.

The employee is frequently indoors and outdoors. This employee will occasionally work in extreme heat. This employee will frequently work in conditions where fumes and mists are presents. In addition, this employee will occasionally work in conditions where poor ventilation, dust and gases are present. This employee will be occasionally exposed to various hazards. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
