The Senior Suuply Chain Manager will work with one of the regions fastest growing SME, FMCG businesses who have a robust strategy to double their turnover in the next 3 years.
Purpose of the Role:
As the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will spearhead the Supply Chain department, overseeing S&OP, Customer Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Vendor Relationships, Inventory Management, and International Logistics (imports/exports), and Distribution (inbound and outbound – EU business). Your primary objective will be to ensure strategic and operational supply chain excellence, driving cost savings and efficiencies to support our growth ambitions.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically support the SMT & Key Stakeholder in aligning supply chain strategies with business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Conduct strategic environmental scanning to inform procurement and supply chain decisions, including monitoring legal, market, and industry trends.
  • Manage key supplier relationships, capturing demands to the correct volumes and logistic schedules.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and certification standards.
  • Lead end-to-end planning oversight and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure expectations are met.
  • Provide input in new product development processes based on supply chain intelligence.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of supply chain professionals to maximise their potential.

Person Specification:

  • Strategic mindset with proven commercial acumen.
  • Ability to thrive in complex, changing environments with high standards of governance.
  • Track record of successfully implementing strategic supply chain initiatives and leading teams.
  • Experience managing supplies based overseas and navigating international logistics.
  • Resilient under pressure with excellent problem-solving skills.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent risk identification and management capabilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Understanding of different supply chains and global supply markets.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations, customs procedures, and international supply chain management practices.
  • Degree educated in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Practical experience with imports in FMCG related products. (Chemicals, Food, Pharma etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in strategic supply chain/procurement.

Salary:

  • £60-65k
