The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Maritime and Intelligence Systems (M&IS) Division is seeking a Lead System Administrator (Level 4) to join our Mission Systems Operations team in Herndon, VA. Our team focuses on delivering complex solutions in some of the most challenging environments on Earth. We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Lead System Administrator will be a part of a high-performing team. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part in developing hardware and software solutions for our client’s proprietary programs. This role will include translating customer needs into detailed requirements for current operations and program growth, facility design, hardware selection, software selection and development, system integration, testing, and operations and maintenance (O&M).
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
- Install, configure and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.
- Plan, develop, design, integrate, and maintain all computer applications, including specialized applications specific to the program’s objectives.
- Plan and coordinate highly complex software and hardware for enterprise release.
- Ensure systems conform to architectural objectives.
- Evaluate complex system’s production readiness and supportability.
- Perform the restoration of complex computing service operations.
- Perform complex system problem identification and resolution.
- Integrate security solutions into information systems.
- Monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
