Job Description: We are currently seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing and maintaining IT systems, with a proven track record of leading projects and initiatives. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong leadership abilities, and a strategic approach to IT system management. This position requires working in the office five days a week.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the administration and maintenance of complex IT environments, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Ability to carry out complex information technology (IT) tasks such as configuration management, access control, security, and troubleshooting, in addition to ensuring the system’s business as usual (BAU) operations.
  • Developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Managing and mentoring junior system administrators and IT support staff.
  • Ensuring system security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Overseeing system performance monitoring and optimization.
  • Coordinating and managing IT projects, including system upgrades and migrations.
  • Collaborating with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies and tools to enhance system capabilities.
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of system configurations, changes, and issues.

Skills and Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Preferred). Equivalent work experience and certifications will also be considered.
  • Extensive experience as a System Administrator or similar role, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Database Management activities, including data asset movement, design, setup, installation, and monitoring.
  • Ability to liaise between consumers and database-related challenges, like archiving and restoration.
  • Expertise in virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong experience with network management and security protocols.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative with a hands-on approach.
