Description:
As part APRA’s vision of Modernising our prudential architecture, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Core Infrastructure team.
This role will support the configuration, implementation, maintenance and administration of Infrastructure components such as compute, storage, security and networking deployed at APRA.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Senior Systems Engineer will be involved in making recommendations regarding the development of new and innovative solutions to current IT related issues. In the provision of advice to senior managers on systems issues, the position operates within a framework established by the policies and practices of the IT Unit and is guided by the APRA Act, other relevant legislation, and accepted practice.
- Administer, implement, configure, and maintain infrastructure hardware and software components
- Perform maintenance patching activities as required
- Identify and remediate Cyber related issues and vulnerabilities relating to any Infrastructure components
- Converged Infrastructure implementation, configuration, and maintenance
- Storage hardware implementation, configuration, and maintenance
- Design, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions and components based on the needs of the Technology department, wider APRA organisation and best practices
- Secure administration (and the implementation of it)
- Firewall administration
- Delivery of projects, both working autonomously and part of a larger group
- Create, update, and maintain documentation for the Infrastructure solutions as they evolve
- Interstate travel to branch office for maintenance and auditing purposes
- Afterhours maintenance activities.
