Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Talent & Careers professional who will work closely with our Public Service team to oversee and lead the BBC Studios Early Careers (post recruitment) and Staff Apprentices. In addition to this, you’ll be supporting the wider team with the growth and development of our talent management & careers processes and lead on internal career development activities.
Working collaboratively with team leaders and the HR Business Partners, you will develop a strong understanding of our business and industry, ensuring a first-rate experience for all apprentices. With previous early careers and staff apprentice experience, you will support the BBC’s award-winning apprenticeship programmes for our people across a range of disciplines from Production, to Global Markets, Brands & Licencing and Corporate Functions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Take full ownership of the BBC Studios Apprentice process including
  • Partnering with BBC Public Service Apprenticeships Team: The Public service team has responsibility for hiring of our early careers Apprentices. Your role will be to build trusted relationships to ensure the growth of our Early Careers and Staff Apprentice population in line with the overall strategic direction of BBC Studios. You will be the glue that aligns between our Public Service commitments and our Studios stakeholders
  • HR Business Partner partnership: Collaboratively partner with the HR Community, providing insight and guidance throughout the early careers bid process, to identify skill and resource gaps and alignment to the suitable apprentice schemes available
  • Staff Apprenticeships: Working effectively across BBC Studios to enhance the uptake and engagement of staff apprentices aligned to our career development programmes and activities. Working collaboratively with HRBP’s and Line managers to address skill gaps and build impactful career pathways
  • Communication Strategy: Building an effective comms roadmap for early careers and staff apprenticeships in partnership with the Public Service Apprenticeships teams, ensuring a BBC Studios roadmap is clear and articulated. Represent the BBC Studios Talent and Careers team at events such as Townhalls and Webinars
  • Apprentice Onboarding: Aligning to the Public Service approach to Apprentice onboarding, ensure the Early Careers BBC Studios Apprentice brand builds an understanding of who we are, how we work and what to expect during their time with us
  • Leading the way: You will be the subject matter expert and key point of contact for Public Service and Studios Teams; responsible for the build and implementation of all Apprentice experience at BBCS, including networking events, additional development activities and opportunities to meet with Senior Leaders.
  • Lead on wider Talent and Careers projects including Success Factors talent management implementation, diverse talent mobility, succession planning and the coordination of talent cycle activities
  • Lead on Internal Career programmes for BBC Studios, including Hot Shoes & 80:20 in addition to internal career fayres
  • Partner with internal DEI function and 3rd party DEI partners as part of BBCS’ ongoing commitment.
