    Our client, a large top tier Global Asset Management business, are looking to recruit a senior Finance and Tax Professional to manage their Australian Finance & Tax requirements.
    This newly created, broad and varied role is mainly in an oversight/review and coordination capacity, with the financial and tax operations teams internally, as well as the outsourced service providers.
    The purpose of the role is to ensure the delivery of the finance and taxation function for the Australian business, including developing and maintaining a high level of financial control and management reporting to assist in the management of the business.

Specific experience will likely include:

  • 5-10 years’ experience within a Big 4 Consulting/Top-tier Law Firm environment
  • Ideally CA/CPA/CTA Qualified or Equivalent, with relevant tertiary education.
  • Strong taxation and financial accounting knowledge, having proactively kept up to date with key changes in the regulatory environment and providing innovative solutions to the business.
  • Applies advanced analytical, verbal, written, presentation and persuasion skills.
  • Hands on, collaborative and engaging attitude and approach to delivering quality business outcomes

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the financial and taxation reporting for all legal entities within the Australian Group including, income tax, GST, FBT, PAYG, Payroll tax and related taxes.
  • Oversee the financial and taxation reporting for all of the funds and the distribution cycles, including income tax, GST and related taxes.
  • Divisional, regional and group management reporting.
  • Provision of relevant revenue and client and product analysis including profitability and forecasting.
  • Proactively work with senior management to drive business planning, budgeting and analysis in order to enhance shareholder returns.
  • Ensure processes are in place to review cost structure and to achieve maximum cost efficiencies taking full advantage of cost control potential between the group and the region.
  • Manage external service provider relationships with auditors, tax consultants, fund administrators and registry providers to ensure a high standard of delivery that anticipates and meets the changing business needs, including adherence to key deadlines such as distribution schedules, preparation of financial accounts and tax returns for the fund range and corporate entities as applicable.
  • Provide expert operational and technical advice to the Product team for the launch of new products.
  • Management and review of the accounts payable and receivables functions, including client fee billing and performance fee calculations.
  • General business administration oversight for expense management, corporate credit card and account payable.
  • Oversee the internal controls for audit including production of the GS007 report.
  • Control group dividend distributions and accounting there of including franking account balances.
  • Preparation of ad hoc business analysis e.g. revenue modelling, product costing.
  • Review and drafting of the fee calculation section of new client mandates.

THE ROLE IS IDEALLY SUITED TO A CURRENT BIG 4 SENIOR MANAGER LEVEL ( EQUIVALENT/OR RECENTLY LEFT ) TAX PROFESSIONAL LOOKING TO STEP UP IN A BROADER, COMMERCIAL ROLE.
