Our client is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Manager, Tax to join their team within a prestigious international financial centre.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Manager, Tax will report directly to the partner responsible for the Tax department. This role involves leading a variety of engagements, including international tax projects, direct and indirect tax advisory, and compliance engagements across multiple sectors. The individual will work as part of multidisciplinary and multijurisdictional teams, providing specialist tax advice on complex issues such as global tax strategy and structure, domestic tax advisory/compliance (including VAT, stamp duty, and business licenses), and more.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance/economics, or law.
  • Advanced Diploma in International Tax is desirable.
  • Membership in a recognized accountancy body (e.g., CPA, ACCA, ACA) or equivalent qualification (e.g., MST, Certified Member of the Institute of Professional Taxation).
  • Successful track record of new business origination within International Tax projects.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in a public accounting firm.
  • Experience with UK/Ireland or Canadian Tax.
  • Excellent commercial, organizational, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong people skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to work on one’s initiative and meet tight deadlines.
  • Full proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and electronic research tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Tax partner on running assignments.
  • Drive sales and develop thought leadership for allocated clients and target organizations.
  • Conduct high-level conversations with senior stakeholders and introduce relevant specialists from across the firm.
  • Lead by example in client relationships, technical quality, service delivery, and commercial aspects.
  • Design and deliver proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Identify key client issues that present opportunities for other teams and facilitate introductions.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory rules.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including client and engagement-related documentation.
  • Play a key role in people development activities, including coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.
