QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ACCA, CPA or similar designation is required.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in public accounting or 8+ years of a mix of public and private.
  • Working experience with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas is preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations under IFRS.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a distributed team.
  • Highly organized and a clear communicator
  • Fluent in English (company language).

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Senior Technical Accountant at Unybrands you will own most complex IFRS accounting questions and help codify the group’s accounting policies and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements globally.
You will be partnering across time zones with other internal Finance and Procurement stakeholders to maintain accounting processes and help continually develop processes and controls. In this role you will report directly to the Head of Global Accounting and Finance Operations and will be responsible for all relevant topics across multiple countries, preparing accounts using NetSuite ERP under IFRS. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a subject matter expert and perform analysis and research on technical accounting topics.
  • Determine appropriate accounting policies ensuring compliance with IFRS.
  • Draft technical accounting memos as necessary.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Review contractual arrangements and determining correct accounting treatment.
  • Accounting for business combinations: sources & uses, opening balance sheets, purchase price allocation, brand valuations & valuations of earn-out commitments.
  • Accounting for capital instruments: equity raises & debt instruments.
  • Support financial and tax audits.
