Description:
Job Purpose
Associate in this role function as information technology (IT) professionals serving as technical experts and participate in or oversee a variety of analytical and technical assignments that provide for problem diagnosis and solutions documentation, implementation, administration, support, and maintenance of a variety of hardware and software products in an information technology infrastructure environment. The role is broadly split between providing day to day operational support for existing infrastructure services and users of those services, and project-based work leading to the development and deployment of new infrastructure services or EOL activities.
Responsible to: IT Data Centre/Operations Manager, EMEA/APAC
Responsible for: EMEA Network, Server, Storage & Data Protection Infrastructure
Location: Deeside - frequent travel will be required
Working Schedule: Full time (37 hours per week) out of hours’ work and travel will be required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct research on potential technology solutions.
- Keep current with the latest technologies.
- Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
- Benchmark, analyse, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the Regional IT infrastructure and IT systems.
- Providing support, monitoring and maintenance of UK Data Centre and other EMEA site infrastructure and services for remote associates.
- Design, implementation, support, monitoring and maintenance of infrastructure software platforms, including but not limited to client operating systems, networking, messaging, reporting platforms and all other software-based systems.
- Develop operational, installation, configuration and upgrade documentation for computer and networking related systems.
- Serve as a liaison between other technical staff, management, and users regarding service requests, usage, standards, security, and other technical matters.
- Provide on-site or remote access diagnoses and resolution of computer hardware and software problem.
- Work within strict time frames and elevate incidents within defined timeframes.
Technical Requirements
- Strong, proven Cisco networking hands-on skills.
- Knowledge of Windows client O/S and infrastructure platforms in an enterprise environment to include –
- Image deployment
- Virtualisation (VMware)
- Data Protection (Veeam)
- BAU & troubleshooting
- MFA configuration
- Disk encryption technologies
- Patching
- Knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory.
- Knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication.
