As part of the EMEA Consulting team in our Enterprise Architecture Group (EAG) you will regularly interact with our customers as you consult and guide their teams through largescale and complex digital transformation projects using our cloud platform. Your passion for continuous learning, enthusiasm and curiosity will be important as you work to enable our customers to implement our technology successfully and for them to use it effectively in order to deliver their business outcomes.
This is an opportunity where you will use your extensive experience and continue to develop your technical, hands-on engineering skills, as you gain exposure to the architecting and deployment of AI and Gen AI models, as well as enhancing your communication and consulting capability as you assume a key customer-facing role in complex digital transformation projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your ability to be both technical and commercially minded will be invaluable as you guide and support our customers through complex and impactful business transformations. You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Technical proficiency in enterprise scale cloud based data platform solutions utilising Azure, including Azure Data Platform technologies, Cloud DevOps practices (ADO and/or GitHub), and data migration strategies.
- Proven experience as a Senior Technical Consultant (Data & AI) in complex and large scale development, test and production environments using the following:
- Knowledge of or Experience using Microsoft Fabric
- Enterprise Data Governance including experience with Azure Purview.
- Database administration (preferably with SQL Server, including Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL) – performance tuning, troubleshooting, high availability / disaster recovery, security
- Business Intelligence, data modelling, reporting and tuning with Power BI
- Advanced Data Analytics including use of Synapse and/or Databricks
- Big Data Architecture (utilising Database, Datawarehouse and Datalake) and Implementation, including use of Azure Data Factory.
- Creation of Test strategies and automated testing to efficiently and effectively test developed solutions
- Proficiency in relevant programming and querying languages and tools commonly used in cloud environments, such as SQL, Python, C#, PowerShell, Bicep/Terraform, DAX/M, Kusto.
- Strong experience with monitoring, logging, and security best practices.
- Experience working on projects delivered using an Agile approach (Scrum / Kanban)
This role requires some travel to client sites, which can be between 25-50% of the time. Outside of this, MS encourages a hybrid approach to working from home and the local office to encourage a healthy balance to work and life outside of work.

Responsibilities:
As a passionate technical expert, you’ll engage with external decision-makers, facilitating technical design workshops to translate business needs into Azure solutions. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Technical leadership of cross-functional teams of consultants delivering complex cloud projects, using Secure-by-Design Enterprise Scale Architectures with focus on scalability, reliability, automation, and performance.
- Understanding commercial responsibilities and aligning technical delivery with program milestones, taking accountability for technical risks.
- Hands-on, technical solution implementation with peer consultants on complex customer deliveries.
- Collaborating with account teams to strengthen the relationship between sales and delivery and liaising with our Product Group to access engineers building solutions, all in the pursuit of delivering Microsoft’s offerings effectively to customers.
- Contributing to pre-sales efforts by shaping deals through understanding business requirements and providing industry and technical insights.
- Assisting in drafting customer proposals and statements of work
- Acting as an ambassador/creator/consumer of MS intellectual property (IP) by leveraging and/or modifying existing IP or creating repeatable content where applicable.
- Identifying opportunities to expand or accelerate the adoption and consumption of the cloud and Microsoft technologies.
- Facilitating, as appropriate, other team members to scale the business with existing customers by articulating value propositions of strategic Microsoft products and services and developing new offerings for the domain.
- Learning new technologies or services (e.g. AI, MLOPs/LLMOPs) based on business demands and industry trends, as well as mentoring team members and acting as a technical advisor for stakeholders by providing thought leadership, articulation of solutions value, and outcomes of business strategies
