Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Solutions Engineering team creates products that make work more efficient, fun, and collaborative for all of Epic. The current team consists of two sister engineering teams – Application Engineering (custom software development) and Efficiency Tools (governance and support for citizen automation tools). As the popularity of our products and services has grown, we have identified the need for a product ownership team of which you will be the first hire.
As a Senior Technical Product Manager for Solutions Engineering, you will help usher in the future of automation involving AI and ML tools. This includes working with engineers to design and build new internal products, working with leaders to influence the approach to using AI/ML tools securely and efficiently at Epic, and helping individual teams better incorporate AI/ML features into Enterprise Applications. Immediately upon onboarding, you will take ownership of an ongoing pilot and implementation of an insight engine used company-wide. You will be working with the Efficiency Tools program manager to build the proper support program for this tool. Implementation of this tool will require working closely with R&D and product teams who are building or requesting advanced AI/ML based automation tooling or features. To execute on these requests you will work directly with the Solutions Engineering team for operationalization and productization. There is high potential for this role to grow beyond the responsibilities described in addition to management of fellow product owners, program managers, and solution architects.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Work with engineers from various R&D teams across the business and Application Engineering to design and build an MVP for a core product or suites of products supporting knowledge-based searching and chatbot features; this core product suite will be applied to both internal and external products
  • Work with architects and engineers from Efficiency Tools to incorporate best practices for using LLMs and RAG within any citizen development model (Workato, Airtable, Slack Workflows, etc.)
  • Work closely with InfoSec, Privacy, and other legal groups to ensure compliant data management and access in relation to AI/ML based searches and summation functionality
  • Identify and work with application owners where usage of GenAI features could greatly improve Epic community and efficiency such as Workday Analytics, Miro, Workato Assistant, Github, and many more
  • Work with R&D teams to identify frequently requested categories of AI, refine the request and approval process, and implement a scalable process that aligns with existing new technology request processes
  • Identify resourcing needs to develop and maintain a product suite within reasonable resourcing, using logical trade-offs to present a product that meets most company needs and allowed budget
  • Forge relationships with teams that are pursuing solutions to chatbot and ML-based search functionality; guide stakeholders in identifying their pros and cons to a chosen approach, and work with leaders to facilitate selection of the “right” vendor and product to meet the most needs
  • Utilize strong organizational and strategic skills to develop and drive the Solutions Engineering product roadmap
