ABOUT THE TEAM:

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager to lead our Operations Platform domain. Your focus will be on designing internal tools and services that empower SumUppers globally to take ownership of their business processes and automations. The Operations Platform manages the infrastructure, services, and design components of both in-house and third-party tools (e.g., Salesforce). You’ll collaborate with an Engineering Manager and a cross-functional engineering team to drive the iterative development of features in this domain. Your primary customers will be internal teams, supporting their needs to deliver a world-class experience for our external customers.
This position is part of the Platform Tribe, where our mission is to enable SumUppers to build, run, and communicate innovative and cohesive products & services globally, at scale. Our Squads align strategically with SumUp’s priorities to provide robust infrastructure, streamline data processes, and develop essential operational platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Refine and lead the product vision and strategy for internal tools that support our Operational teams and their interactions with merchants, fostering alignment across product teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership
  • Drive the discovery and technical requirements for internal tools for Operations with a multidisciplinary engineering team to build solutions that minimise user friction, provide smart automation, and create a great experience for Sumuppers and the customers they interact with
  • Define your domain’s core metrics, working alongside our Platform Tribe analyst, to track improvements, identify opportunities in user journeys, and share the outcomes of deliveries
  • Partner with global Go-To-Market teams, including Sales, Operations, and Marketing, to share insights on the outcomes of initiatives and upcoming plans, providing essential technical insights and product knowledge

You’ll be great for this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated delivery in a complex internal domain with multiple systems, both third-party and in-house. Experience with Salesforce is a plus but not required
  • Experience creating and leading a product strategy, defined through milestones to show key short-, mid-, and long-term gains, supported by a measurement plan. You can demonstrate how you have used the outcomes of previous initiatives to learn, iterate, pivot, and adapt
  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, architectures, and trade-offs with engineering teams. You’ve taken the lead in discussions within your team and managed technical discussions with external teams, guiding them effectively toward solutions
  • Ability to deep dive with an analytical and metrics-driven mindset. You have experience with intermediate SQL to generate insights into user and customer interactions and can demonstrate using quantitative and qualitative data to guide prioritization and deliver high impact across multiple areas
  • Exceptional leadership abilities to guide cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders. Strong communication skills to effectively articulate product vision, strategy, and requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences
