This role is work from home/remote and can be based anywhere in Europe or the UK.

REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
- Excellent written skills in English (C1/C2)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with the SDLC and software development
- Technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with virtual servers and storage.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead multi-team projects with varied stakeholders such as product managers, engineers, sales, and marketing staff
- Be data driven, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- University degree in Computer Science, other technical fields or Journalism
- 3+ years professional work experience as a Technical Writer
- Knowledge of information design, structured writing; HTML, XML and CSS is a strong plus.
- Excellent command of the English language - ability to edit and organise information, ability to explain clearly complex software concepts, and create accurate procedural and product information
- Solid planning and scheduling skills, experience working within tight deadlines
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
StorMagic is recruiting a Senior Technical Writer, reporting to the Director of Product Management, to help us produce high-quality, customer-facing product documentation. As a Senior Technical Writer you will create technical documentation for end users and system administrators. More specifically, you will write and publish online Installation Guides, Administrator Guides, API Guides and Release Notes.
In this role, you will work directly with product management and engineering teams across the software development lifecycle to deliver product documentation for major and minor releases of existing and/or upcoming new products. Auditing and updating existing product documentation are also part of the role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research, outline, author, write and edit product documentation content, working closely with various cross-functional teams.
- Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop, organise, and write procedure manuals, product and process documentation, such as Installation Guides, Administrator Guides, API Guides and Release Notes, etc.
- Work with Product Management, R&D and Technical Support leads to identify product documentation needs.
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture templates that adhere to organisational and legal standards.
- Prepare content for online publishing.
- Introduce processes and best practices for the design and creation of technical content.
- Review the human-readable strings in user facing graphical interface.
- Create video tutorials to help explain how customers can use of software products
- Auditing and updating existing product documentation.
