We are looking for Senior Technical Writer for Digital Lead & Supervisor role at ABB Oy, System Drives in Helsinki.
In this role you will start by writing product manuals. Later on, after gaining sufficient knowledge, you will be responsible for supervising the work of other technical writers. In addition, it is possible to combine a digital lead role or an information architect role with the supervisor role. We offer you a challenging job in the User Documentation Team.

Your responsibilities:

• Writing and updating user manuals in a content management system. The readers are engineers and technicians, typically in the field of electrical engineering and automation.
• Supervisor role: Planning and supervising the work of other technical writers.
• Digital lead role: Developing new digital documentation applications for customers.
• Information architect role: Defining and promoting the guidelines together with the Team for organizing, structuring and labeling content in an effective and sustainable way.
• Working with illustrators and creating technical illustrations.
• Sourcing input data and information from subject matter experts.
• Gaining product knowledge in terms of both hardware and software.
• Working in a content management system and agreeing on common guidelines with others to maintain high content quality and reusability.

Your background:

• Excellent writing skills in English (CEFR B2 or higher).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Excellent technical documentation, teamwork, and co-operation skills.
• Demonstrated capacity and eagerness to plan and supervise the work of other technical writers who work in your responsibility area.
• Knowledge of modern user documentation techniques, interfaces, and platforms. Interest in investigating, promoting, and implementing new ones.
• Competence in information architecture and knowledge of visual documentation is considered a benefit.
• You are interested in engineering and technology in general. You can see the big picture and determine what information is relevant to the user.
