Responsibilities:

The global Precision Product Validation team is searching for a GNSS & Inertial Senior Test Engineer. This challenging new role fulfils an internal need for geomatics test expertise and will lead the development of creative new test methods for our cutting edge positioning and autonomy technologies in Agriculture. We are searching for candidates from a geomatics background with strong applied and theoretical GNSS knowledge and experience running dynamic performance measurement tests. Other desirable skills include test development, data collection, data handling and analysis, Python test scripting and the ability communicate complex topics to varied audiences. This role is split between office and field work and involves collaborating with other testers, vehicle teams, GNSS technology suppliers and our sister technology companies to prove out GNSS solutions for our customers prior to release.

  • Lead the innovation and development of PV process and test methods for GNSS technologies whilst transferring knowledge and techniques to others.
  • Interact with stakeholders in engineering, product test and product management to improve test coverage and quality for the benefit of the end user.
  • Draw insights from validation test work with customer use cases in mind to support business decisions.
  • Develop key metrics for tracking GNSS and inertial performance to be implemented by internal data teams
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.

The annual salary for this role is $82,000 - $117,000 CAD plus any applicable bonus (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Geomatics or related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred qualifications and experience:

  • Deep knowledge of GNSS technology and how it is used within land based applications like automotive, construction or Ag.
  • Ability to capture, process and analyze GNSS and Inertial signal data.
  • Detailed knowledge on RTK correction generation, position surveying and correction delivery methods.
  • An interest in statistics and large dataset analysis techniques.
  • Able to operate with proficiency a high grade GNSS & INS truth system and GNSS post processing software.
