Description:

Job Summary A team of Senior Trainers will be appointed who will work under the direct supervision of the Training Leads to deliver a high-quality digital training service across the Trust. The Senior Trainer will make a key contribution to providing a comprehensive bespoke package of digital training ensuring a blended training approach. The Senior Trainers will take on responsibility for learning new technologies, applications and systems and designing and delivering the resultant training courses, to meet the needs of all users. They will also play a fundamental role in evaluating training to enable healthcare professionals to effectively use hospital system software, office automation and on-line learning software.
The post holder will support the Training Leads to deliver the required number of training places per year for a wide variety of different specialties, systems, disciplines and which is suitable to meet the needs of all staff, as appropriate, including clinicians. Key responsibilities Design, deliver and evaluate training on a daily basis to enable staff to effectively use hospital system software, office automation and on-line learning software, including actively contributing to the extensive training schedule required to meet the requirements of the organisation. Have a comprehensive understanding and detailed knowledge of a wide range of healthcare Patient Management Systems (PMS), both windows and non-windows based. This must be sufficiently comprehensive to be able to deliver training in a range of modules and applications to end users, champions, product specialists, etc.
and to offer support and handholding to all staff during implementation. Undertake testing of new or developmental digital systems and equipment, making recommendations regarding modifications to ensure that it is fit for purpose; this could be both hardware and software (application). Assist the Training Leads in developing and maintaining the End User Training Environment (EUTE). This will include creating and inputting dummy data, ensuring that the training environment can be used by all levels of staff, whilst adhering to the relevant project plans and timescales.
Receive, assess and respond to user queries, providing problem solving support and follow-up training, if appropriate. This includes providing a help-desk style service, specifically for training related issues, ensuring that all queries are logged, answered and resolved in a timely manner. Work closely with the Training Leads in designing, planning and delivering refresher training for clinical and support staff with the key aims of : - o improving the quality, timeliness and completeness of data collected o enhancing the appreciation of the importance and benefits of accurately recording electronic patient data amongst clinical and support staff members. Understand and interpret the Role Based Access Controls (RBAC) as defined in the digital systems, to design training which meets the needs of users.
This must be in line with the functionality of the new system and must ensure that staffs have appropriate access to fulfil their role whilst complying with Data Protection Legislation. Ensure that all data regarding delegates, training timetable, accommodation, etc. is supplied to the faculty administrator in a timely and complete manner which supports the updating of the digital training database. This will involve validating this data and raising appropriate documentation for user accounts in advance of training courses.
Evaluate and monitor training, refresher and awareness courses, delivered within the remit of the post, including post-training departmental / ward / community / organisation competence-monitoring visits. Actively support and contribute to the development and delivery of workshops, presentations, awareness sessions, etc. which promote best practice and demonstrate the scope of the digital training service provision. Produce regular statistical and activity reports, which assist the training leads to monitor the training service provided and its impact on data quality programmes.
Assist with relevant Training Needs Analysis and designing training methodologies in response to operational requirements. Contribute to the publication of digital promotional materials, including articles, posters, updates to the Intranet, exhibitions and presentations within the organisation and the wider health community if required. Ensure that all master copies of training documentation are updated on a regular basis, in line with operational and system changes. Liaise with the Training Leads to periodically review and assess training materials and methods, to ensure best practice and a high quality service is maintained.
Foster a positive approach to change management and offer ongoing support and handholding to staff involved. Working with the Trusts digital systems support team responding to digital training requests, training queries and system queries in a timely manner. Using the online e-learning system to create, amend and customise delegate training accounts. ensuring the correct training modules are assigned to the user using the Role Based Access Model.
To design/create eLearning modules for which the trainer requires a good understanding of the e-learning tool and a wide knowledge of Trust Clinical Systems and patient journey scenarios throughout the Trust. System administration for a wide variety of training environments to mirror the Trusts live systems and processes. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the quality standards required of the digital training team, which must in turn appropriately support the other services The post holder will be required to contribute to the development and implementation of Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors within the digital training service. The post holder will be required to support delivery against these targets and the production of regular reports relating to performance and supporting information to explain improvements or degradation in service.
