Deswik is continuing to grow and as a result of our recent acquisition of the industrial mathematics company, Polymathian, we are looking to hire a Senior UI/UX Designer based in Brisbane to join our software development team. You will play a key role in designing user interfaces that ensure our customers are able to address complex technical problems quickly and efficiently.

Senior UI/UX Designer

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to design user interfaces that address complex technical problems and workflows.
• Work with a team of software engineers who use industrial mathematics to solve optimisation problems in the heavy industry.
• Liaise with customers and on-site SMEs for research and early feedback on designs.
• Gather and apply data to assess the effectiveness of UX &UI designs and implementations.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the user base and tailor designs to their needs.
• Deliver UI/UX style guides for use by development teams.
• Work to realistic release schedules.
• Mentor early careers employees and champion user-centred design.

Your skills

• 5+ years’ experience designing UI and UX for commercial software.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Tertiary education in IT or Software Engineering (highly regarded, but not essential).
• Typescript and React front-end skills (highly regarded, but not essential).
• Data visualisation (highly regarded, not essential).
