Job Summary:
Responsible for managing and growing a national portfolio of Professional Lines accounts for Allied World Australia’s Professional Lines portfolio. The candidate will work in a collaborative team environment with active technical support as needed to achieve results in line with agreed segment strategies and guidelines.
We are seeking someone who wants the responsibility to leverage their capabilities, both as technical underwriters and market facing producers. You will have the ambit and a level of suitable authority to deliver profitable underwriting decisions, manage accounts and grow within the Allied World operation in Australia.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5 years + in either Professional Lines underwriting and/or broking.
  • A strong technical knowledge base in Professional Lines, but with the willingness and desire to continue to learn.
  • Existing relationships with distribution partners with the communication and interpersonal skills to build your network nationally.
  • Attention to detail, excellent analytical skills and ability to exercise strong judgment.
  • Maintains and values a high level of professionalism, integrity and trust.
  • The ability to collaborate and be part of a team culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the development of the Allied World Australia Professional Lines portfolio.
  • Reviewing and managing an allocated portfolio of complex risks or scheme business, delivering underwriting decisions within designated authority levels and portfolio risk appetite.
  • Having active engagement with the broking market spanning the management of existing relationships and expansion to new distribution channels nationally, marketing both Allied World products and value proposition.
  • Assist Underwriting Managers with both analysis and strategy development of their product portfolios with the ability to actively contribute to business decisions.
  • Providing technical guidance to colleagues to assist in their development and learning.
  • Have the willingness and capability to take on projects which can assist in furthering your technical knowledge and overall professional body of work.
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager
