The opportunity

  • Join a highly engaged, supportive team as an experienced Property Underwriter to manage our Commercial Property Portfolio.
  • Reporting to the Underwriting Relationship Manager for NZ Brokers, you will work take on complex & diverse range of risk including corporate property, in excess of $100 million.
  • Develop your leadership capability through mentoring and coaching within the wider QBE team.
  • Auckland based role; hybrid working (3 days in the office) & happy to talk flexible.

Your new role

As the Senior Underwriter you will oversee and manage a portfolio in the commercial property space. Key elements of this role will include:

  • Actively manage your portfolio and relationships with brokers and colleagues to achieve portfolio retention, growth and profitability targets.
  • Represent QBE to our customers and broking partners in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate and share a detailed understanding of the market and trends.
  • Lead and model QBE values around teamwork, customer focus, listening with empathy, sharing your expertise.
  • Contribute to the development, mentoring and managing of Underwriters, Trainees and Assistant Underwriters
