JOB SUMMARY:

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (UAE) seeks an experienced, academic leader to serve as Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Success (Provost). The Provost provides leadership to the university and supports the fulfillment of its mission through the development, management, and implementation of quality academic and student success programs and services. The position reports to the President of the university. The Provost heads a number of committees and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

REQUIRED QALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Holds a Ph.D. or other terminal degree, preferably from an accredited American university.
• Merits appointment as Full Professor.
• Extensive experience in a senior academic/administrative role in a university at the level of Dean, Associate Provost or higher.
• International exposure; international academic administration experience.
• A proven record of hiring and retaining talented and diverse administrative leadership, delegating appropriate work to them, and holding them accountable.
• Experience with the American model of university education and organization.
• Experience with quality assurance.
• A strong and ongoing research and scholarly record.
• The ideal candidate will have experience with institutional accreditation

• The Senior Vice President / Provost is the senior academic affairs and student affairs leader who administers academic affairs and student success strategies, initiatives, and operations at the university.
• The SVP/Provost leads the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Success.
• The SVP/Provost oversees all schools, student enrollment management, student success and retention, academic support services, research and development, community services and program accreditation, reputation, and development functions in relation to undergraduate and graduate education and executive and professional development programs at the university.
• The SVP/Provost works collaboratively with AURAK’s, direct reports, senior administrators, students, parents, alumni, university partners, employers, and other stakeholders at the stages of development, planning and execution of the university’s academic and student affairs strategies and activities.
