Boeing is seeking a Senior Visitor Relations Tour Guide (VIP) to deliver world class tour experiences and operations in the Puget Sound region. This role will primarily focus on daily operations and delivery of Everett Very Important Person (VIP) Tour program. This position is 100% onsite, based in Everett, WA and reports to the General Manager of Boeing Future of Flight (BFoF) and works closely with the Senior Tour Programs Specialist and Special Programs Coordinator.
Visitor Relations Tour Guides serve as Brand Ambassadors and are responsible for learning and presenting detailed Boeing content and scripted material to deliver enhanced experiences such as Executive/VIP tours at multiple sites, as well as conducting the Everett Factory Tour, Boeing Backstage Pass, and other interactive presentations. In addition to giving tours, responsibilities involve research, training, and other tour-related assignments. Visitor Relations team members must demonstrate active visitor engagement as well as capacity and enthusiasm for learning and sharing accurate information about Boeing products and aviation concepts. This role leads daily execution of VIP tour operations and logistics for their site, including active communication with program stakeholders, route safety inspections, equipment maintenance and inventory management, script revision recommendations, and team training and program quality assessments.
The optimal candidate for this position will demonstrate a passion for customer-focused interactions among diverse audience groups, is detail-oriented and proactive, has extensive practice in creating exceptional visitor experiences, and is proficient with learning and presenting scripted material in a professional manner. This opening is for a full-time position available to work in Everett, Mukilteo, and Renton locations. Typical days and hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with some limited weekend and flexible start/end times as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience in a role which required strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience giving tours and/or public speaking
  • Capability to walk/drive a golf cart for a long distance while narrating a tour and supervising the safety and security of visitors
  • Capable to work occasional weekend, flexible hours and overtime

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience establishing relationships and maintaining strong on-going communication with customers, suppliers and/or vendors
  • Experience in resolving scheduling conflicts
  • Event planning experience
  • Capable to escort guests in all factory locations
    Typical Education/Experience:
    Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 7 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+5 years’ related work, Bachelor+2 years’ related work, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Delivers a professional, energetic, and inspiring tour to guests as a key representative of Boeing and an ambassador of the Boeing brand
  • Engages customers enthusiastically; supports all aspects of visitor experience to enhance Boeing brand and products
  • Memorizes and delivers scripted material and approved messaging to guests
  • Incorporates script updates and new content as required
  • Practices continuous learning with supplemental material and Boeing Company news
  • Leads tour activities for groups with 1-25 guests typically, while working together with colleagues for coordination of larger size groups as needed
  • Maintains tour asset inventory and service plans including fleet of golf carts, headsets/mics, and other tour amenities/supplies
  • Drives carts as needed for tour requirements; follows all vehicle and transportation safety guidelines
  • Communicates proactively with tour partners and guests; trouble-shoots itinerary issues as needed and ensures all site VIP tour activities operate smoothly
  • Documents tour metrics accurately to report attendance and tours by category
  • Communicates visitor feedback to leadership and actively works to implement operational and content improvements
  • Assists visitors with experiences and services at Future of Flight when requested; this may include learning gallery content and facilitating interactive experiences with public groups and event guests
  • Addresses and/or reports safety issues or concerns
  • Acts as lead for safety and emergency response training and preparedness
  • Works collaboratively with special programs coordinator on tour staffing, coverage, and tour logistics planning
  • Completes mandatory training assignments in a timely manner and participates actively in team training and meetings

The successful candidate:

  • Loves interacting with people from around the world; is gracious and hospitable at all times
  • Must be poised under pressure, maintain good eye contact and have a friendly communication style, and strong customer service focus
  • Demonstrates proficiency with managing guest questions and comments, and trouble-shooting routine tour and program challenges
  • Is self-motivated and can work independently to accomplish goals with limited supervision
  • Is fluent in English, but proficiency in a second language is a plus
  • Has experience with memorization of scripted material and/or teaching
  • Demonstrates ability to learn quickly and follow standard operating procedures
  • Must be capable to walk, stand for extended periods of time, up to six (6) plus hours per shift
  • Must demonstrate punctuality and regular attendance
  • Has experience with technology related to events or calendar management
  • Has experience with Boeing and/or BFoF is a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation to be able to report to different Puget Sound locations including Everett, Mukilteo, and Renton
