    REE has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their Water Resources Team. We seek motivated professionals to support their strong and growing project pipeline.
    At REE, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic and professional knowledge to the real world and Tier 1 energy and resource clients, at one of their office locations in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth.

REE’s projects include:

  • Dam design
  • Dam safety reviews
  • Dam breach and failure consequence assessment
  • Mine site infrastructure design and surface water management
  • Drainage design and surface water management plans
  • Water balance studies
  • Tailings management studies
  • Environmental impact studies.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Lead the technical surface water engineering aspects of multidisciplinary projects. This will include undertaking the work yourself, supervising, and confidently reviewing work completed by others.
  • Work closely with Engineers-of-Record (EoR) on long-term operational projects
  • Write technical reports, proposals, and papers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Liaise with other internal disciplines and sub-consultants. This includes international branches of Geosyntec.
  • Work with and mentor juniors to develop their skills.
  • Participate in National and International Conferences.

About your skills & experience:

  • 8+ years of consulting experience operating within the water resources sector
  • A high level of experience in at least one hydrologic modelling package (e.g. RORB, RAFTS, URBS, WBNM), and at least one 2D hydraulic modelling package (e.g. TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, XP SWMM, Flow-2D)
  • Competent in the use of GIS package/s
  • Working knowledge of ARR guidelines
  • Highly experienced technical report writing
  • Experienced in proposal writing and project management.

Highly regarded skills & experience:

  • Additional experience with other hydrologic and hydraulic modelling packages
  • Familiarity with dam safety guidelines including ANCOLD, GISTM, CDA and DES
  • Water balance studies (GoldSim)
  • Dam break and consequence assessment studies
  • Dam storage allowance, and spillway design
  • Stormwater management and/or erosion and sediment control plans
  • Civil or tailings engineering
  • Experience in the following software: GoldSim, 12d, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Muk3D.
