Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior MIG Welder to join our team as a supervisor. As a Senior MIG Welder Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing welding operations across various sites in Western Sydney. Your responsibilities will include managing a high-performing team of site installers, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and Lead:Manage a team of site installers, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Hands-On Expertise:While primarily a supervisory role, you’ll occasionally need to jump on tools to assist with welding tasks.
  • Quality Assurance:Inspect welds for strength and accuracy during and after the welding process.
  • Blueprint Interpretation:Read and interpret blueprints to guide welding operations.
  • Material Selection:Select appropriate metals and materials for welding projects.
  • Safety Compliance:Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Equipment Maintenance:Regularly inspect and maintain welding equipment and tools.
  • Problem-Solving:Diagnose issues and troubleshoot welding-related problems.
  • Collaboration:Liaise with line managers and report any issues or suggest improvements.

Requirements:

  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification:Completed apprenticeship or vocational training in welding.
  • Experience:Proven experience as a MIG welder.
  • Physical Strength:Excellent stamina, strength, and dexterity.
  • Safety Awareness:Sound understanding of welding safety protocols.
  • Teaching Skills:Ability to mentor and train welding apprentices.
  • Flexibility:Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.
