JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Senior Workday Payroll Configuration Analyst, you will be responsible for configuring and maintaining our Workday payroll system to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees. You will use your combination of technical expertise in the Workday platform and deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
The ideal candidate will have (5+) years’ experience in configuring and supporting Workday payroll modules. You will possess a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations, including tax calculations, earnings and deductions setup involving absence, time tracking, and compensation, as well as compliance requirements and demonstrate proficiency in Workday report building from payroll results.
This role is remote-based in the United States and we are targeting a salary range of $80-$120K base with bonus opportunity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuring and supporting Workday payroll modules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human Resources, or a related subject or equivalent experience.
  • Deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations, including tax calculations, earnings, and deductions setup involving absence, time tracking, compensation, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of Workday report building from payroll results.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) including a strong understanding and experience with database, spreadsheet, and report writing tools.
  • Strong communication skills including the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical users; the ability to interact with users and have a customer service focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with payroll team and stakeholders to gather requirements for payroll processing, including tax calculations, deductions, earnings, general ledger, and compliance needs.
  • Configure the Workday payroll system according to organizational requirements, including setting up earnings and deduction codes, tax setups, payroll calendars, general ledger, and other system configurations.
  • Conduct thorough testing of configured payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations, including running test payrolls, validating results, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Document payroll configuration settings, processes, and procedures to ensure clarity and maintain a record of system changes.
  • Provide training and support to payroll administrators and end-users on how to use the Workday payroll system effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Stay up to date on Workday payroll updates and enhancements and assess their impact on our payroll process.
  • Serve on cross departmental teams and provide support for HR System project teams including acquisitions, new modules/functionality, and facilitate process improvements.
  • Support new procedures/projects and improvements due to business changes, operational requirements, strategic initiatives, and legal requirements.
  • Create and maintain a variety of ongoing reports, as well as ad hoc reports and metrics in consultation with internal clients.
