Description:

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education.
  • One (1) year experience in high volume restaurant preferred.
  • Responsible alcohol service requirements - Smart Serve Certification required.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers.
  • Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • Will work for extended periods without sitting.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 lbs (18 kgs).
  • Will be required to be available for work on all major holidays and weekends.
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System.
  • Greet guests and serve food and beverages in a timely fashion.
  • Accurately take orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system, following all recipes as set out by the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas and service stations.
  • Participate in the celebration and entertainment experience of the guest.
  • Set up and break down dining room and service stations as prescribed; this requires movement of dining and patio furniture.
  • Accurately collect payment from guests for purchases, issues change, and receipts as required.
  • Provide information to guests including food & beverage menu descriptions, daily food and beverage features, and understand common allergies.
  • Is aware of vessel schedule, embarkment periods, local attractions, and upcoming events and entertainment to prepare for peak dining periods.
  • Assist in routine cleaning of dining room/patio, including daily cleaning of equipment, preparation stations, stock rooms, staff areas, staff washrooms and mopping floors.
  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, and practicing all City Cruses Gananoque policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared to begin work at scheduled time.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Assist with the warm and efficient greeting and seating of guests when they arrive.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty.
