Description:

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Band 8A Service Manager to assume operational responsibility for the adult mental health inpatient service at Berrywood Hospital.

THE SERVICE CONSISTS OF:

Harbour Ward: mixed gender admissions ward
Cove Ward: male acute ward
Bay Ward: female acute ward
Marina PICU: male psychiatric intensive care unit
Wheatfield: male forensic low secure unit
Health Based Place of Safety
You will join an established management team which is committed to the delivery of quality of care. The role will involve taking management responsibility for all aspects of service delivery ensuring the delivery against all key performance indicators. Leading on service developments and managing local projects will be a key part of your role where it is essential that you will work in co-production with service users, carers and other stakeholders. You will be expected to form and work in partnerships with both internal and external agencies to benefit the service, our patients and the wider system.
Line management of Ward Managers, Administrators, Physical Health Nurse Lead
Ensuring high standard of service delivery and quality care for the four wards, Health Based Place of Safety and Physical Healthcare Team within the service.
Take part in the Trust’s mental health manager on call rota; you will also deputise for the Head of Adult Inpatients (countywide).
Lead on recruitment and retention, wellbeing of the workforce and local training needs for your service area.
Close liaison with Bed Management Team and hold service overview of patient flow, escalating delays on a daily basis.
Supporting and leading on QI projects throughout the service.
Ensuring safety of the service in relation to staffing levels and supporting teams with clinical escalations.
Work together with the Service Manager at the Welland Centre, Adult Head of Service and Older Adults leadership team to ensure consistency countywide for Inpatients.
