Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity to join our Service Retention management team. This is a full-time opportunity reporting to the National Manager, Service Retention and managing 4 direct reports. The successful candidate will develop and implement marketing & communications directed at Dealers and consumers to promote the Toyota Parts & Service (P&S) brand. This role also drives education and awareness while conveying clear and compelling reasons to choose Toyota Genuine Parts & Service – supporting ongoing loyalty, retention, and parts sales.

What You’ll be Doing:

Marketing

  • Develop annual service marketing plan complete with scheduled activities and marketing promotions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and agencies on Tier 1 marketing strategy supporting our 3 pillars (Tires, Quality Service, Genuine Parts); drive education & awareness to build P&S brand equity and set the stage for Tier 2/Tier 3 conversion
  • Strategically partner with Tier 2, Zone Parts & Service Managers (ZPSMs), agencies, and Toyota Dealer Association (TDA) to promote & support aligned Parts & Service marketing tactical conversion efforts at Tier 2
  • Design and deliver campaign-aligned & evergreen templates for dealers via Toyota Dealer Network (TDN) and AdBuilder to support brand aligned Tier 3 P&S advertising to drive conversion to service appointments/parts sales
  • Create and implement P&S marketing programs, activities, and communication assets that will increase brand relevance, customer connection and parts sales while driving customer loyalty and retention
  • Manage the Toyota Retention Support Program - Marketing Fund (TRSP Marketing) which provides quarterly reimbursement to dealers for eligible advertising within their local markets
  • Seek out new marketing activities and leverage available marketing channels to maximize investment; liaise with internal departments in the deployment of these activities
  • Develop and deploy merchandising and incentive programs for dealers; measure ROI to determine impact
  • Support accurate, current, and compelling P&S content on toyota.ca that supports customers in their ownership journey, delivering education through meaningful moments to drive loyalty and retention
  • Drive awareness & understanding of Service Marketing campaign strategies, execution & results with executive, zones, and dealers
  • Create Tire Centre Education and support materials, driven by the product team for use on Infostream
  • Support brand protection activities through ad campaigns and educational materials which speak to the benefits of Toyota Genuine Parts and the risks of counterfeit
  • Create and distribute targeted communications to customers through Direct Mail, Blogs, Lapsed Owner Campaigns, and Multi-Message Emails
  • Manage the TDN in-dealership digital advertising platform and associated creative materials
  • Support consistent provision of beneficial, brand and campaign aligned, TRSP eligible templates to the AdBuilder platform for dealer use

Management

  • Align team goals with TCI vision & hoshin priorities, establish checkpoints to support progress toward deadlines, coach team members on revising/pivoting to drive successful project completion
  • Drive learning & development through timely, candid guidance/feedback, seek opportunities for project work that align with team member growth opportunities and career goals
  • Communicate and prioritize project/task responsibilities of direct reports, provide guidance, feedback, and accountability for individual performance
  • Communicate corporate messages providing appropriate context in a timely manner
  • Lead team members in curation of aligned, consistent communications at Parts & Service Manager Action Group (PSMAG)/Sales Manager Action Group (SMAG)/Dealer Communication Team (DCT)/TDA/Subcommittee meetings to foster collaboration, understanding, support & Kaizen (continuous improvement)
  • Initiate and implement appropriate Kaizen efforts which results in work efficiencies relating to cost reduction or avoidance, improved time and process efficiencies

Other

  • Represent Service Marketing at TDA Meetings, DCT Subcommittee meetings, ZPSM meetings, PSMAG meetings, and P&S field staff meetings
  • Develop annual budget of $15.4M to support all Service Marketing activities across the tiers, manage this budget and lead other related departmental expenditures ($18M total)
  • Lock in and measure incremental success through the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Standardize and share successes across the team or organization through ‘yokoten’ (shares best practices)
  • Maximize dealer participation in TCI programs

What You’ll Bring:

  • University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience within the automotive industry
  • 5+ years of marketing experience is a strong asset
  • Prior management experience is a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of retail parts and service operations and wholesale parts sales and distribution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to produce results; strong organizational skills
  • Creative thinking and ability to generate new innovative ideas with a customer centric focus
  • Strong leadership skills; proven ability to coach and mentor others
  • Ability to initiate & improve work processes to increase efficiencies
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bilingual (English & French) an asset
