Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Service Support Aide to join the Emergency team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today!
As a Service Support Aide in Perinatal Services at Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Assist in the delivery of client care. You will do this while working under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate and in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members.
- Perform duties such as:
- cleaning, maintaining and ensuring equipment is in working order
- providing client/patient care within scope of practice
- transporting clients/patients to and from required areas using stretchers and wheelchairs
- moving a variety of equipment within the unit
- assisting nursing and technical staff with the lifting and transferring of clients/patients
- providing support to clients/patients with bathroom care needs
- assisting clients/patients with meals and maintaining supplies for various carts, rooms and storage areas
- cleaning equipment and designated areas as required to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients/patients and staff
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 10
- Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
