Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Service Support Aide to join the Emergency team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today!

As a Service Support Aide in Perinatal Services at Vancouver Coastal Health you will:

  • Assist in the delivery of client care. You will do this while working under the functional direction of a Registered Nurse or other designate and in cooperation with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Perform duties such as:
  • cleaning, maintaining and ensuring equipment is in working order
  • providing client/patient care within scope of practice
  • transporting clients/patients to and from required areas using stretchers and wheelchairs
  • moving a variety of equipment within the unit
  • assisting nursing and technical staff with the lifting and transferring of clients/patients
  • providing support to clients/patients with bathroom care needs
  • assisting clients/patients with meals and maintaining supplies for various carts, rooms and storage areas
  • cleaning equipment and designated areas as required to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients/patients and staff

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 10
  • Graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.

    The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
