What we’re seeking
We are currently seeking a Service Technician to join the team in our Institutional business and based in the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area. This position provides detailed and professional technical assistance and support to the Business Group and aids in any technology development projects related to chemical handling/sales/dilution/safety. This position is accountable for all aspects of the Business Group equipment and equipment-related issues. The Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, repair and preventative maintenance of chemical feed equipment, commercial dish machines and related ware wash dosing equipment for assigned geographic regions.

What you’ll do

  • Execute professional installation and maintenance to chemical feeder equipment, fleet of dish machines, glasswashers, and boosters to end-user customers. Manages installation projects and service calls to ensure timely installation/service and on budget execution.
  • Partner with the Sales hierarchy/Territory Managers, to implement chemical handling systems for new and existing accounts and provide training and technical assistance in a professional demeanor.
  • Provide telephone, written and on-site technical support as required by the District and Territory Manager.
  • Communicate with Sales, Marketing and Business Units to have required equipment when needed.
  • Maintain vehicle truck stock, including parts and safety equipment.
  • Stay current on product and technological developments.
  • Act as customer liaison with equipment department and field teams.
  • Communicate and document each field service call with the Customer and Territory Manager using CMX/Yeureka business Tool.
  • Interact daily with Territory Managers, District Managers and Customer Maintenance, to educate on installations and ongoing maintenance tips along with preventative maintenance program.

What qualifications we require

  • 1+ years’ experience in a warehouse/re-manufacturing environment working or engineering and/or technical equipment resolution issues.
  • Must have valid Driver’s License in good standing.
  • Ability to travel and spend approximately 90% of time accompanying Sales Representatives and/or Customers. Additional field time and travel may be required. Require occasional overnight travel in assigned Provinces. Valid Passport a benefit.
  • Ability to work on-call evenings and weekends rotation.
  • Intermediate computer skills in: Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Data and situational analysis capabilities with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong experience in electrical, plumbing, chemical and mechanical applications.
  • Working knowledge of feeders, warewashing equipment and dispensing systems in the Specialty Chemicals field.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure timelines of delivery.
  • Self-motivated to coordinate daily activities with Territory Managers, Equipment and Customer.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to regularly interact with Territory Managers as well as Line Staff at customer accounts.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to evaluate and assess situations and determine most viable option for the Customer, Territory Managers.

What qualifications we prefer

  • Post-secondary degree in Engineering or Electrical/Plumbing.
  • BPCS experience is a definite asset.
