The role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Technician - Electrical to join our team at Heatherbrae. As a crucial member of our workforce, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including providing general low voltage electrical services to the mining industry in our Heatherbrae workshop.
Your key responsibilities will include performing maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs on Sandvik mobile equipment. You will be tasked with ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard, whilst maintaining availability and minimizing costs. Safety compliance will be at the forefront of your work, and you will be expected to adhere to all Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions - APAC guidelines.

Areas of responsibility

  • Carry out general low voltage electrical duties to 1000v underground equipment, maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis work on Sandvik mobile equipment (including Surface) whilst maintaining availability and minimizing costs and ensuring Site and SMC Safety and Environmental guidelines are adhered to.
  • Performing electrical maintenance duties as directed and as per maintenance plans, to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation.
  • Perform fault finding and repairs, using electrical schematics
  • Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records including specific site records.

Your profile

  • Electrical Supervisors license, Contractor’s license or equivalent.
  • Post trade experience of at least 2 years.
  • AS3800 accreditation/experience would be advantageous.
  • Strong focus on safety and WHS.
  • Surface and underground mining and heavy mobile equipment experience.
  • Experience with Sandvik products will be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong customer service attitude as well as a drive and determination to achieve targets and goals.
  • Some basic mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and able to read schematics while experience with Sandvik products will be a distinct advantage.
  • Must have the ability to work rostered shifts.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license
