We’re looking for a results-driven Service Coordinator for our shop in Prince George, BC. The successful candidate will review shop inspection reports, develop repair scopes, quote component rebuilds and new build projects, support team members with technical knowledge, prepare failure analysis & equipment rebuild reports, procure parts and consumables for work orders, and assist in the coordination and scheduling of service work. A broad understanding of Bearings, Power Transmission, Hydraulics, and Materials Handling components & systems is required.

You will report to your Shop Supervisor, and under their guidance, you will:

  • Assist shop staff with problem-solving, product selection, sizing, sourcing, and costing.
  • Develop rebuild quotes, , carry out inspection report and project bid review, obtain costing, track & follow up on products and third party services for shop repairs, field work & project builds.
  • Prepare equipment rebuild and field service reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee projects to high quality standards and timely delivery.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong command of the English language
  • Solid understanding of mechanical and hydraulic principals and practices.
  • Broad understanding of Bearings, Power Transmission, Hydraulics and Materials Handling Products and systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of rebuild processes
  • Better than average PC skills. In particular, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Calm & easy demeanor. Works well under pressure and excels in high paced environments.
  • Self driven and conscientious.
  • Superior analytical ability
  • Able to work independently and in a high paced team atmosphere.
  • Excellent and practical communication skills, including clearly written technical reports that exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent time management skills to manage projects in tight deadlines
  • Able to make knowledgeable decisions with confidence

TRAINING/EDUCATION:

  • Understanding of, and adherence to federal, provincial, & corporate safety standards and practices is mandatory.
  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist is an asset,
  • Journeyman Millwright, or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality standards
