ABOUT THE JOB SERVICENOW/CMDB ADMINISTRATOR - CONTRACT

Our Client is looking for an experienced ServiceNow/CMDB Administrator for a 6-month rolling contract based in Northwestern Melbourne.

KEY SKILLS:

  • At least 5 years’ experience with ServiceNow platform and administration.
  • Also proficient in ServiceNow CMDB and ServiceNow Discovery.
  • Successfully completed Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Fundamentals and ServiceNow Discovery Fundamentals.
  • Be flexible.
  • Possess technical skills but also excel in collaboration, adaptability, and understanding the bigger picture.
  • Identify patterns and trends, translate findings into design decisions.
  • Envision future possibilities, explore innovative ideas and anticipate how services can evolve.
  • Develop scenarios, prototypes, and roadmaps that align with long-term service goals.
  • Develop diagrams, and use visual models to convey complex concepts.
  • Work with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in ServiceNow platform, ServiceNow CMDB, ServiceNow Discovery e.g. Successfully completed Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Fundamentals, ServiceNow Discovery Fundamentals.
  • Manage daily activities to keep the CMDB up to date.
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation to identify and document CIs, ensuring that they are accurately tracked and maintained in the CMDB.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for all activities related to the CMDB, including data normalisation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Provide help and support to team members involved in keeping CMDB data up to date, including identifying and driving training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure the CMDB is regularly audited for accuracy and completeness, and that any discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor the performance of the CMDB and identify opportunities for improvement, including enhancements to the underlying data model, automation of processes, integration with other systems, and uplift of technological capability where identified.
  • Maintain the roadmap for the ongoing maturity of the CMDB, ensuring that it is aligned with business requirements and objectives.Oversight of the Discovery environment, responsible for ensuring the health and performance of the Discovery application, liaising with team members to troubleshoot and resolve warnings and alerts, issues impacting the CMDB being auto populated.
  • Continue to improve the CMDB leveraging the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Continue to improve the CMDB, working with the technology team to prioritise and deliver enhancements.
  • Own and improve the CMDB Data Model.
  • Establish a centre of excellence and innovation, control boards.
  • Other capabilities as defined in the JD.
