About the role:
The Services Manager will manage assigned projects to support the construction requirements of CDC Data Centres in the ACT. This role offers substantial support to project teams throughout the initiation, planning, and execution of internal operational and construction projects, while also tracking and reporting on their outputs and outcomes. The Services Manager will collaborate with both technical and non-technical internal stakeholders to achieve quality assurance, and financial success.
This role needs strong time management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills to effectively balance client needs, contractor schedules, and industry regulations for successful project execution.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Oversee data centre service projects, managing critical infrastructure and technical services to ensure successful delivery.
  • Handle project planning, change management, customer coordination, reporting, and internal stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with contractors to identify and mitigate risks in service trades, documentation, design, and site works.
  • Conduct site inspections, report on defects and progress, and participate in site meetings to ensure successful service delivery.
  • Review monthly progress claims, work with project coordinators to complete claims, and manage weekly and client reporting.
  • Manage vendor and trade interfaces, document interactions, and review trade recommendations during procurement.
  • Establish regular project meetings with internal and external stakeholders, manage communication, and support internal staff.
  • Support project accountants and finance teams in controlling costs.
  • Oversee commissioning plans, ensure functional testing of facility operations, and develop status reports.
  • Manage defect lists and processes, ensure all required licenses are obtained, and hand over maintenance documentation to appropriate stakeholders.

This role would suit anyone who has advanced from a trade background into a corporate setting and can offer hands-on support to the team on site.

  • Demonstrable successful track record of delivering commercial scale electrical, communications and technology projects with complex supply chains and varied skill sets.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with a broad portfolio of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Electrical or HVAC qualification or extensive experience in similar environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft office and Microsoft project skills, experience using Aconex and Project Management tool suites
